Hi, I was asked to tell about how my year has gone.
first, my name is Pattie, I got banded in Jan 2011...it's going real slow for me, but as long as I don't gain, then I'm happy.
I had an identical twin sister who had the RuNY done 5 years prior and because she ran into complications, I decided it wasn't for me, so I went with the Lap Band.
She passed May 19th 2011 sadly but felt after being on dialysis it was her time, so she stopped all her meds and dialysis...but before passing she had lost almost 200 pounds so she was just about at her goal weight...it's a shame she didn't get to enjoy.
I have lost so far 43 pounds, and at a year I thought I would have lost more, but I'm not giving up.
I had a half cc fill on the 19th which was my yr anniv...but it isn't settling with me this time...I fall to sleep and regurgitate which wakes me up, not sure what I should do because every time I go see Dr., Valentine's assistant Annie I have to pay a co-pay and it's hard on the budget.
Has anyone else gone through that after a fill?
Last time something like that happened which was 4 mos ago, I ended up getting an infection the hospital thought was pneumonia and it wasn't because as soon as I called Annie, she had me go in so she could take a half of cc back out and I felt much better there after.
I sure hope and pray I don't have to do that again...to date I have had 11 fills, not sure if that's the norm or not, I would love any feed back from any of you.

Thank you~Pattie

I also have been having a slow go. I was banded July21 2011 and have only lost 24 pounds. I am happy that I have not gained back any as well, but thought it would be different. I have had about 7 fills, they think the first 4 cc was missed because at one of my appt when I should of had 7cc i only had 5. She withdrew all of it to see how much was in the syringe. I still have not had a "full" feeling when eating, I am not sure if I am waiting for something that is never going to happen. I have not had problems regurgitating, a little heart burn, but If I eat properly I don't get it. I feel like I over eat a lot. I am frustrated. I am so sorry to hear about your sister. Don't feel alone. This is a long journy and will last a life time. Hang in there. You should be proud of your progress:)
